Super Jet 62t compression with 35cc domes

Because im running the 62t cylinder with different port timing then a 61x. Would this bring the compression down? I have a protec head with 35 cc domes and im only getting 145 psi on both cylinders?wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im using a craftsman compression gauge brand new! SOMEONE HELP PLEASE:439::439:

Try a different gauge or it's time for a topend.

There is probably nothing wrong except your expectations. Yes a 62T cyl will show lower cranking compression than an 61X. Your gauge may be off and/or the foot valve not working right. That extension that screws in the spark plug hole will also lower the reading. Plus every head MFG has a different idea of measurement.

are you using the extended shaft valve on the gauge with that pro tec head ? ( just like the spark plugs need to be ES extended shaft).
