61x intake mani on 62t cases

I appreciate both of your input as it helps me make a better decision. Found a full 62t/61x 701 with dual 38s In a beat couch but the motor is solid. I will split that motor, use the 62t cases from with my 62t cylinder. And then put the left over 61x cylinder on the 61x cases. I will have a 62t/62t 760 with 61x elect. And a 61x/61x also from the left over parts. $250 for a 701 donor is a solid pickup

If you want freestyle , you do want 61x cylinders. Low port timing makes for bottom end. But then your going down in cc's unless you resleeve it. Or, deck the 62t cylinders 1.5mm.

The ski is sitting with a 61x/61x and it rips, I'm looking to build a motor that has a long band of power. Lots of mid/topend. Then ill buy boltons to help pickup the bottom end I've lost. I don't do slow tricks, I go fast and use the momentum when I do tricks. I am close to trying rolls off a boat wake I just want the speed on the fx1. I'm getting that motor setup and will run the 38s that are on the cases now. Should I want to go back to 61x ill have that motor still Availiable and ready to drop in. 760 in my fx and a 701 will go back into my square nose. The extra 701 I have ill take my time and build. I want to have one of the faster skis out on the lake this summer and I have the parts for the 760.

if you want the speed like your saying, big kahuna can guide you there, i've never built or rode a 62t/62t motor, but from theory thats what you want. and when you start flowing that air that fast through the engine, im pretty sure you'll want duals

I think the limiting factor at this point will be the FX-1's 122 pump and the oem rev limiter. 38s are easy to tune, and will work good until the pump and rev limiter are addressed.

Solid thanks moto. I'm getting the 38s now with the case ready to put the 762 cylinder and pistons on. I will be running the dual 38s while I'm running the 760. I am going to build a 61x/61x with what I have left over between the two and will put my money into setting that up properly for freestyle. I may not know all that much about the skis but I have no problem swapping a motor in a day. Best thing for my to do now is ride my 762 and build a nice jetmaniac 735.

I put the 61x 701 I have Into the fx to run with everyone at pleasent on the 26th. Jason did great work fixing the major dings and what not and my ski was running stupid hard. I was out keeping up with Jason's 140 pumped and b piped fx. However I'm about 50-60 pounds less than him to. Either way I had a awesome time at pleasent and was over thrilled as to how much sicker the fx is over y square. We have to get together and ride when it warms up man.

I never believed the don't run 61x cases with 62t topend because it's "backwards" as far as I've learned the only difference is the amount of flow the different cases provide. The 62t cylinder I have did not slide right onto the 61x cases from my 95 fx1. I've solved my engine problem not by poking up another 701. It's 62t/62t 701 with dual 38s. Came out of a wave venture. I am going to put my 762 cylinder on the 62t with the dual 38s as it is and put the left over motor together till I'm ready to build a bottom end motor. I am not going to be building the second motor untill I put tom21 tubbies on my fx and hopefully the tom21 pump tunnel also.

Wow special that's amazing, just read through those motor builds and damn. Great work I'm envius. If I had the ability to port the cases like that and make my cylinder fit I wouldn't have hesitated either. 61x rips and single carb is the way to go. One day I will build a similar motor, the local riders with modded engine here run 61x cases too. I know 2 people who run 61x 760 motors. I haven't gotten to try one yet but I can already tell that a 760 based motor is something I wanted to build and own. I would never sell my 701 because i lie it as it is and it's completely stock. It only gets better from there.

Pretty interesting reads there. I'd like to ride one and feel it. I've only ridden one SS850 but I didn't care for it, but when you ride other peoples $h!t, you never know if it's properly setup. Ya know? I'm also the guy that wants flatwater power in the surf(I don't get up very much speed, lol).
I didn't open up my 61x cases as much as you, did you say you had templates? Cuz I got a few sets lying around id open one up and try it

Special fx did it like a boss. Not asking what people prefer or recommend but instead he tried stuff first and got great results. Makes me want to consider getting the 61x cases opened up to fit the 760 ontop haha.
