61X cylinder pics - what am I looking at?

I traded for this cylinder today. What is going on? It looks like it was ported, but then had sleeves installed, and the sleeves don't match the porting. It has been run in it's current configuration. The story is that it used to belong to Slymo. Should I run it as is (after a hone) or should I grind out the sleeves to match the ports?

Who is DBP?

Thanks!

I swear I saw 6M6 on it too, so maybe it was a 650 cylinder that got 701 sleeves installed in it? I confirmed an 81mm bore.

Grind the sleeves to match the ports? Or just run it?

I had a 5mm stroker out of maccluggage's 95 world finals ski. it was a 6m6 cylinder with 701 sleeves. ports looked similar and it ran really well. The intake reed area was expoxied just like many freestylers do now. This was back in 1995

6M6 cylinders supposedly have lower ports than a 61x.
Grind the sleeve to fit the casting. Be careful not to mess up the angles.
Be sure to chamfer after you're done.

I would not start grinding on that cylinder till someone like chucky or paul chimes in. You may mess up a good cylinder and port job. Just my 2 cents worth.
