61X cdi question

I did a search but I came up with two results. One yes and one no.

My question is will a 61X CDI work in a ski with a 701 62T and its electrical? Im reading that the timing will be 7* off.

Some guy wants to buy a CDI off me, I have a spare that says its for a 61X. He is putting it in a 62T 701.
I do know about the one red/white wire having the wrong connection.

I know it will run, but I have never heard of the 6 degree problem. That is slight enough that it could be adjusted out with the stator though.

the wire is the only thing i have ever heard about. i had that happen to me when my stator went south.

i think my ski hits better with the 61x though, might have just been a bad stator all along. don't know.

i read that post too looking for help lol! then i put the 62t cdi in the blaster i just picked which was 61x and no problems here.. i dont notice any difference in power at all.. uk gave me a 61x cdi but i dont think ill bother changing it unless someone gives my a reason..

ok thanks for the help fella's. THis cat has gone through 2 cdi's, about to go on his 3rd. Im not sure if something in his ski is killing the cdi's.
I told him he needs to check out his stator and make sure its good.
uvcoarse he wanted me to do the work and I gave him a price, then he said he will think about it.


Im wondering what could be killing his cdi's. what do yall think?

Check his grounding...stator grounds the ebox through the small black wire on the stator
