The SJ from 94 on up has used 61x cylinders. It never came with 62T cylinders. The 96 and above SJ motors are all 62t case/61x cylinder blocks.

The 64U is just a 701 couch engine that had a 62T cases with a single pulse line fitting that would accept 760 sleeves.
The 61X cylinder can be bored up too 84mm and the 64X 760 cylinder will go up too 85mm before big bore sleeves are needed.

61 x cases mostly came in 701 yamaha ,superjet uses the the 62t cases ,it was a dual carb setup from the factory for more low end hit,out of the hole , best used for surf riders, but didnt have as much in the top end . Most yamaha surf riders prefer the 62t case with the 61x cylinder and dual 38 mm dual carb setup, but some also prefer the 62t 760 cylinders, mounted on the 62t cases with the dual 44 mm carb setup.most of the parts are the same but not all,the 760 engines were installed in skis with digital gauges for speedo, and fuel, etc.. and the 760 electrical is different then the 701 ,the moduals ,or computer . stator s were bigger...dont know the exact specs...but you get the point , I am currently looking into the differance between the 62T 701 cylinders and the 62T 760 cylinders ,look into different porting?? were they just bored bigger? Or were they different sleeves?Remember the ebox is different in the 760! I have a true Yamaha 760 with 64Y on the tag ,it has a 62 T case with 62T cylinder with a 64x head . I removed it from a stock 1996 Yamaha Waveblaster 2 . It is now in my WB1bump useful info
