300/440/550 550sx no spark

I bought a non running 91 550 becuase I wanted the reed motor.I put the reed motor in my running 90 550 and it cranks over but i'm getting no spark.Could it be that the reed motor I installed needs a stator?Thanks

i m betting its the stater...but u will want to check everything first
make sure u hooked everything up correct
