You need a FPP Reed pipe or the Coffmans Half Pipe. Full Pipe only going to work good if you are porting the cylinder and raising compression. The Stock Exhaust actually works really well with a stock setup.

Ok, if porting, Westcoast Full PIpe, PJS (There are several versions, need to find the full pipe for the reed cylinder). Factory Pipe Full (Rare). Mariner Full, believe they have a reed version as well.

i had newmiller machine do my 550 work. he knows the 550 cylinders very well. my cylinder was a ripper for what it was. i had a factory full pipe on it with the tunable headpipe like on the superjets and dual 38 sbns. the reed specific factory halfpipe would be the best choice with the 550 pump you have. the half pipes are designed to work with the 550 pumps because the overall length is longer to lower the torque curve on it the engine so it will rev to its max rpms. the 550 pump is a mixed flow design and it loads the engine at lower rpm pretty hard. most full pipes wont allow the engine to rev out with the 550 pump and that is why most racers in the 80s-90s ran 440 pumps. now people have figured out how to make their 550 pumps perform well and get the rpms needed to run in the 50mph range. the reed halfpipe is most noticable because it has some curvature and gets fatter in the middle. i had newmiller port mine for freestyle with higher octane so he didnt raise the exhaust ports just widened and raised the transfer ports which helped the power come on sooner. newmiller has built several engines for guys running in the 550 race class and is doing quite well. my old cylinder is now being ran in a race boat.

ill look i might still have an exhaust manifold that will work with that pipe if you need one. i believe mines a jetsport. same as like a coffmans. that pipe will work decent its more of a higher rpm pipe.
