300/440/550 550 starter relay/solenoid

Hey all,

Got a bit of an issue with my ski... It takes FOREVER to crank over! Sometimes it won't even crank over...

I've measured the voltage either side of the solenoid and the starter side is coming up too low.. ~7.1v

So, second hand starter was ordered and arrived today (second hand until the new one arrives from the states! In Australia these parts are few and far between!)
But there seems to be a bit of a problem, it only has one wire coming off it! As attached.

Question is - is it ok to use and only plug in the white wire??ImageUploadedByTapatalk1348054512.028749.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1348054533.014695.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1348054603.699710.jpg

Im had the same issue, I also thought it was the starter soleniod dropping the voltage too(mine was like 4 volts on the starter post of the relay while pushing the start button, 12 volts on the battery side while starter switch open, not pressed). make sure to disconnect the starter pos. cable from the relay and then click the starter relay while measureing voltage. If you get 12 then, then its your starter or your cable dropping the volts, not the relay. For me it was a starter.
Just something that threw me for a loop figured I'd mention it. With your second hand starter relay there, I dont know because i have only seen two wire ones. Maybe it grounds through the casing to the ebox where it is bolted.
