300/440/550 550 power

Your JS550 w/550 power would have enough power to really learn how to "ride". Low power and small, lightweight will teach you to be a smooth, efficient rider when you step up to a better platform.......learn to ride, most people don't.

With 650 power, all the better!

I started with a bone stock 440 and had fun and learned alot. More power is better though. Have you considered an fx1? They come with the same 701 as the sj and have 2 easy options for bigger pumps. The js/650 coversion route is the cheapest route and one of the funnest skis if you like skinny/lightweight hulls. You will have cavitation issues especially once the motors modded.

cavitation actually lol. actually if you blueprint the pump and get a steep impeller. ie 18 or bigger you are usually good to go without problems. some guys even manage with a 17 and baraly have any cavitation from idle to WOT. just depends on how you set the pump up.

My stock 750 motor with low compression will spin the crap out of my impeller at lower rpms if I hammer it. With the way I ride i like a lower pitch impeller for bottom end, and thats not happening with that small pump. Wish it was as easy to swap the 650 pump as it is for an fx1.
