550 Carb on a 650?

Hey all,
Ive recently acquired an 88 650 which seems to be missing a carb. Since I have a couple of 550 carbs, I wasnt sure if the 550 carb would work on this 650. Any ideas all?

Also, what are pros and cons of the 650?

yeah, and someone sprayed the whole thing silver (rattle can) So looking for some neat ideas.

None of the 550 carbs are a direct bolt on to the 1988 650 motor.
You best bet would be to find a manifold that would let you bolt on a Mikuni 44mm SBN carb. My next suggestion would be to find the carb and manifold from a newer 650 1991-92++. These skis came with bigger carbs stock than the 88 model.

i think the sx550s had keihin carbs that would work on a 650.

otherwise, you can get a mikuni 44 manifold for the 650 or surfjetlouie sells an adaptor plate for the keihin manifold that adapts to the mikuni carb (i think).
