550 Bilge

I'm trying to install a bilge for my 550. I'm kind of on a budget and was just wondering if it was possible to skip the pisser and run the aftermarket bilge line to the stock bilge line. Anyone ever tried this or know someone who has? Thoughts comments.

It will not work. The suction comes from the pump. A bracket is like $20 and you can find bilge nipple for like $5. If you don't wanna do that just reinstall stock siphon.

I already have my a/m pump installed. I just wanted to know if there was a way I could cheat the nipple.

Might as well do it right the first time. Drill a hole a put one in. You must be on a tight budget.

I spent my last paycheck on a rebuild after my friend smoke my motor. Now I'm trying to use my next one to get back out on the water! I'll do it right though haha

yes you can use the stock siphon nipple as your pisser exit for bilge

my friend didnt wanna drill any holes on his mint 95 X2 so we used the stock siphon nipple as the bilge exit.. it then dumps it into the pump area..


granted this isnt ideal but will work

Did he even have to press a bilge button? Or did the pump move the bilge pump manually?

You have 30 motors or 30 pissers? And my "friend" said to me that it's not his fault it broke even he thought it was a good idea to run straight gas through her after I explained to him it takes premix. So that's the last friend that rides my ski... But on another note I've got her running again which is good

The stock bilge does a great job at keeping water out of the hull under normal riding conditions, I suggest keeping it.

I think walmart sells a cheap electric bilge kit with everything you need to do it right

I had a mint 92 550sx that I never installed an aftermarket bilge in and it did a great job of keeping the water out. you just need a good hood seal. If your going to run an aftemarket bilge put a loop at the top of the hose near the exit so that way you don't get water back in the hull when its not running.
