so i glued my attwood bilge down with 5200 then waited 2 days for it to dry and when i went to attach the bilge hose it just fell off what did i do wrong?

Did you sand that area on the hull, prior to 5200ing it? I have a bilge in my blaster, and 2 in my sj, I just don't trust the stuff when it comes to that.. I made a bracket, that fits like a glove and is attached to the intermediate driveshaft... Then I rivited the bottom portion of the bilge to the bracket... Woeks like a charm I'll try to post some pics... by the way I used a 1/16th diamond plated aluminum

dude, 5200 (not fast cure) takes like 2 days to be tach free, and some 8 days to cure. Screwwwww that nonsense.

Go get some plastic epoxy from any auto store. Normally comes a two part tube and smells like a nail salon. Slap some of that on there, give it 30 min and you are ready to roll.

My guess is you didn't get the surface clean enough. Even the slow cure should have set enough in two days that it shouldn't 'fall off'.

Heads up by the way, Home Depot has the 5200 caulk gun tubes on close out sale. (I think I heard 3m is discontinuing the large tubes.) Note that you need to use the whole thing at once so they are only good for big jobs.

thanx alot it was the slow cure.....i guess ill just epoxy it in, i zip tied it down for today worked good lol
