300/440/550 440 pump in 550?

my 440's hull was done for so i striped it down and got all the parts, and everyone telling me to swap the pumps from my 87 550 pump to my 89 440 pump. is it worth yanking the engine and doing all the work? any help would be awesome.

I've run both before in the same ski/engine and while there was a difference, it wasn't that great for a recreational rider. Racers supposedly like the hookup/bigger volume of the 440 pump. I like the mechanical setup of the 550 pump better---no stupid bushing to wear out.

I run a modded 550/440 pump and it's night and day but i have a ss impeller you will see a difference with the right set up. Just do it you will like it.:Banane36:
