300/440/550 440 help

Need help with older 440. Won't idle, but runs great in the water. Come in to switch riders and wont run. Wait like a half hour or so and runs good again. Any advise would be great.

Take the filter off the top of the carb. Start the ski up and look down the carb while its running. Do you see fuel dripping down from the middle of the carb?

Ok, thanks. Will give it a try. Have some people from where i live telling me it might be the mixing set screws on it, it was from Colorado and was never ran here on Ohio. Dont know if they were changed cause of the altitude?

turn the set screws in till they bottom out and count how many turns you had to turn them then report back with the results.

Low was like 2 turns, and high was like 3. I looked in the book and it says low should be 5/8 and high should be 1, so thats what i did.
