Blaster 44 or 46 in modded Blaster?

I have a Blaster with all the usual mods bigbore (cant remember bore size) no porting, bpipe, head for pump gas,10-16 prop and I am currently using a 44 Mikuni and wondering if the 46 would be better for the setup? I know plenty of people are using the 44 for the same type of mods just seems like it needs more. Could be my tuning, I will admit that. Just looking for some thoughts thanks Jason.

I was thinking the same thing about the 46. I thought i would get a 46 and start with a 2.0 or 2.3 n/s and maybe 120 low and 150 high? Maybe 20 or 21 for popoff? Any thoughts?

You should also consider what is more important to you. Going up in carbs can get more but also burns a lot more fuel in the process. My Superjet sips fuel with 38s. Guys with 44s and otherwise the same mods burn significantly more over a tank. It can be a hassle for riding time or extra costs for minimal returns. With that said I do have 44s on my x2 so I do see both sides of the coin. It's just an angle to consider. Is it worth a bunch of extra time and money for a minimal improvement or would that money be better spent having a pro tuner fine tune your cooling, your carbs, etc. a good tune job can often pull more power out of a machine than a new part. Bigger is not better. I would consult a tuner, and I believe the end result best to be to keep the 44s and have the tuner dial that thing in perfect.

Its not gonna make much of a difference than having your 44 set up properly.

Buy a pop off tester and put a 2.0 needle and seat in your 44. Set the pop off to 20 lbs.
Buy a 120-125 low jet, and a 147.5 main jet and dial your screws in perfect. It will run the way its supposed to.

A 46 requires larger jets than a 44 because it draws with less velocity. I had to put a 130-135 low and a 160 something high. Using a 2.3 n/s and 20 ish psi pop off.

This^ It will help, but probably not enough for you to notice. I would spend your time dialing in the current carb and exhaust. Now if you come across a good deal on a 46 then you should get it. :)

I noticed the changes needed in jets on the 46 over 44 on another boat. I think i will continue to tune the 44 and if a 46 comes my way on a deal try that.
