3DR hood --Update...

Hey D Slicker,Sorry to here about bad product. If you can post the weight of the hood ,price and materials used to construct I would like to know.I built malone's world finals composite components of the complete ski for 2005.The completed hood weighed 4.5lbs. A week of practice and the finals the hood never even stress cracked. And he was pulling huge tricks which means stress and fatique.I love to ride and now I'm starting to develope again parts for the 800 sxr.It will take time I work full time in development of full scale composite aircraft, and own Trinity Composites which is working with a national pro trials bike rider Chris Florin a good friend. Chris is sponsored by gas gas. His gas tank, air box, fenders and other small parts are made of various composites drastically reducing weight for competition.Soon I will have a site to view future products for the 800 sxr ,sponsons, rideplate, nose cover, hood and handpole. Then a upper and lower deck to complete a freeride ski to sell to the public. A product that will take a rider to the next level and be reliable.Spread the word. Good luck w/the hood.

You better be getting to work after telling these guys all that:woot: :scared: Make something with some Yamaha engine plates as well please ;)

Even a race hood should take a good beating. Also they should never be fragile. The 3dr hood might be made of polyester resin and e-glass maybe s-glass which is more expensive either way that would make it fragile. That also reflects in the price of the hood 500.00 that is a good price if holds together. In all fairness and respect to 3dr most people don't know how hard it is to get good raw material i.e. carbon, pure kevlar and cabon kevlar hybrids. It's almost impossible for small companies to get goods. Good epoxy that I use are 80 to 100 dollars a gallon. Carbon and kevlar have almost doubled in price in the last 3 or 4 years. Its going to Airbus which used 700,000 metric tons of carbon last year,Boeing,General Dynamics,McDonald Douglas and many more big players. And the carbon mills can't keep up they are increasing production.By 2008 I've been told they will increase production by 30%.But the demand will also continue to increase as technology does.Sorry for boring people but I love composites.

Hey yamasult have some respect for someone you never met.And never underestimate anyone.Did you see malones ski fly out of the water at the finals. He sent me a concept I made the plugs, molds and the lightest prototype ski in the world. I came up with structural layout.Being the good guy I am I won't tell you the weight, or the whole messed up story of being screwed. You have no idea.By the way have you ever seen a impeller made of complete composites unknown to you or many others. It weighs 6.5 oz when stock was 32 oz which means less rotational mass, much faster spin up or response and it works. Along with many other ideas I can't trust people with. And these are only words I have many prototypes along with pictures of every thing I do.Don't hate what you don't know.Things like this bring sports to the next level which could be by me or someone else that could benefit you.I love riding so way not try to make things better.I only got involved to help someone. Now I want to do more on my spare time I've shown the world what three guys can do to make the best ski to date.Malone wants it his way and I will do it my way but better. And if it doesn't work to bad.I will continue full time work buiding a prodution plane designed by family , 4 generations long.Made of 100% carbon, pressurized to fly at 35,000 feet at 400mph.Long story long have some respect. One more thing I'm not French I'm American.

I was just making a joke about the fact that Airbus (french company) was using up all the carbon. I was not even cracking on you, franfly I didn't even know you what nationality you were.

I'm very sorry... It was intended as a tounge and cheek joke. I love France... Went to Paris back in 2000 and love the food and culture... This is so ironic that I would be taken as a France hater...

People are usually calling me a damn sympathiser, since my views on the "Iraq war" and the American involvement
