3DR's hood isnt carbon. My hood from them was just glass and was 6lbs. If you are just racing i would think you would be fine. If you are doing any freestyle there is no was. As far as i know bloowsion sells one which is carbon and is 7lbs. Wammers is 11lbs I hear but im not sure what it is made of.
