It is pretty simple but you need the Mikuni style manifold and the top pull bracket that Hot Products sells. You can get the manifolds on ebay all the time. It is way better than the 28.

PS, How do you guys feel about the Kehin 42 vs, the 44 SBN?
Also on an X2 you need a throttle wheel and the cable bracket,. Makes life a lot simplier hooking the throttle cable up.
For a Kehin 40 or 42, the cable pulls from the bottom, not as simple. I guess you can just swap the spring out of a Kehin 38 mm X2 carb into the Kehin 40 or 42 to make the carb pull from the top.

You can flip over & upside down the OEM throttle wheel and still use it with the top mounted throttle pull.
I ended up getting a Kawa throttle cable from a sitdown. It's long enough to have it pull from the bottom.
I have an extra throttle pull bracket for the SBN if anybody needs it. :biggthumpup:

The cheapest route is a 40 kiehin and cable and mount from a Kaw 750 ss. Find somebody on ebay parting one out and they usually don't even list the mount or the cable. PM them and you can pick them up cheap. The cable is a little long but fits nicely if you route it down and forward around the battery and back to the carb. If you have the cash go with the 42mm Super easy to tune and you can use the same set up for the cable
