280 lbs. 750sx-f build

yeah, thats a crack...kinda wierd. im gonna go look at my dads hood to se if its cracked too. the first thing i said when i saw the grate after holy $hit !?! was thank god thats the only thing that broke haha

i used just a normal bathroom scale (not electronic, and yes it was zeroed) i put a 2x6 on the scale to raise the ski up so i could see the scale and it was at 283 with about half of the reserve gas used

I hate to be the one to tell you this....but that home brewed pole limiting rope set up is going to last about .02 second before it breaks and take your pole/polebracket/nose of your ski with it.

Get some real rope and some real clips. you'll thank me for this advise.

has anyone ever replaced a pump shoe? or how could i fix mine up? im fine with any amount of work, i just dont wanna spend more then like $30
those shoes are cheap peices of crap that just push into place. Mine kept trying to fall out. new ones are cheap though, so just order a new one and be done with it.

I thought the same thing but figured I'd pressed the issue enough. It looks like parachute cord which is a good start but not all parachute cord is created equally. 550 cord or type III chord is what you want. Some of the cheaper cord actually has a breaking strength of under 100 lbs and stretches a lot...useless.

One other thing to think about...if the limiting strap stretches, it's completely worthless.

well the limit strap held fine all last summer and it got stretched pretty good a few times. so im just gonna leave it.

just trying to help you out.

one solid hit and your toast. I had a limiter that was 10x what you have there and all it took was me hitting a sand bar at speed one time. the ski was toast. I peeled the whole nose.

oh yeah, haha i forgot you needed those. no i dont have em and the new 750 hull im prolly gonna get is already has footholds installed so there isnt anything left of the torpedo tubes. sorry

small update, the k&n filter was letting wayyyy to much water in to the carb which lead to fowling a plug which also lead me to going through my entire electrical system....multiple times :censored:

so i rigged a stock 650 flame arrestor to fit, and with barely any carb adjustment it runs just as good and after a day of riding i only had water in the engine once! which is great compared to a swamped engine every time i did a nose stab. haha

also, i lost a grip that was loose. yes i am too cheap to buy odi's and yeas im too cheap to buy another pair of pro taper quad grips. so an old, used bmx grip and safety wire will have to do lol

"the bog" like after a stab the ski barely pulls it self out of the water "bog". mine did that alot last weekend. perhaps if i wasnt doing stabs one after anotherm in the surf it would help to.
