$2500 650sx Build. Let me know what you think...

So, i built a ski for my girl, if you couldn't guess by the color... I'd say total tally for all parts and paint is about $2500. I originall bought the ski for $1600 about 5 years prior, and rode the hell out of it until it was garbage pretty much. i gotta get to work now, but i'll post more pics and info soon... let me know what you guys/gals think of this old skool beauty!

I'm trying to do a reverse build thread here. I figure it annoys me having to dig through 10 pages of a build, and then not seeing an end result. So, here is my end result, and i will post build pics after if anyone is interested?
So, i'll start with the body mods... i took out the fire extinguisher compartment and the internal storage compartments. This cleared up soooo much space, and made for easy access, and easy reinforcement. It also helped with that ugly exterior and interior image. I reinforced almost the entire engine compartment with 17 biax, sanded smooth, re-epoxied, and painted it with hard epoxy primer and paint. I made every hard corner a smooth transition for better reinforcement, and easier hydro-turfing. Obviously, I put in footholds, and hydro turf. I changed the trailing bumper to a VERY rigid 1 1/4" towing/tie-down hole, and at the same time, cleared space for a trim system. Reinforced bumper rails, and sealed hood inspection hole. I reinforced the handlepole attaching point as well. I added a VERY sturdy limiting rope(kit available from me for $75, and it's WAY better than anything i've seen for sale yet. I also have designed a far superior SJ limiting rope kit.). I added an 1100 GPH Rule bilge pump, and ODI grips. Any parts that were re-used are in like-new condition! And last but not least, a $600 pearl paint job.
Unto the engine... Complete rebuild with an ending 145 PSI compression after break in. No porting, only gasket matching used! I used an SBT crank, and wiseco pistons and rings. All seals and gaskets are new. I bored the cylinders to make it an actual 660sx, instead of the 630sx stock. This still leaves room for 1 or 2 more top-end jobs, and even more displacement! It has a stock head with no machining for the break-in process, and to allow my girl to get familiar with it for a while. I bought a brand new CDI unit, and replaced any electronics that weren't in tip-top shape. It has a Mikuni 44 carb rebuild, rejet, and stock freestyle appropriate flame arrestor. Custom stainless steel fuel pick-up made by my good friend Big Fish!!!! Aftermarket intake manifold, exhaust manifold, pipe, and waterbox, all polished! It has all brand new hoses and clamps, and mostly new stainless hardware. I installed a Decka battery, and new custom built battery cables. All custom electrical wires are marine quality and sealed. New throttle, steering cables, and an angled billet finger throttle. It also has a new high-output SBT starter, and new motormounts. Everything is painted with Epoxy appliance paint, which is holding up to salt water and heat great so far!
As for the propultion system, it has a skat strack 6 stainless impeller with very tight tolerance, and i smoothed out some of the factory flaws to make for better flow. I forget what ride plate and intake grate i used, but i believe they are both worx. I'm going to play with angling the reduction nozzle to try for a more nose-happy ski in a little while too. This should hold us over until i get around to installing and designing a full-on trim system, i hope.
Over all performance so far? It runs right beside my modded Round nose at top-end, with less snap due to compression differences. I'd put it in about the same catagory as handling as a stock SJ body. I do believe it's a little easier to handle above 40 MPH than my SJ. I will dare to say i can out-run a stock SJ, and hopefully a stock SXR after adding a head. Performance is there, but without that 60 PSI compression boost, it's still a bit weak for jumping small waves/wakes. But so far, the important factor... My girl LOVES it! hahaha. Keep her riding, and soon she'll be begging for more power!!!

To get... Head, trim system, dual cooling, flush T, kill switch, head nuts, i wish clearer fuel tanks are available, but oh well!
