Super Jet 24/7 chinpad dosen't fit with shortened turnplate

I put on the wdk short plate and xmetal straight bars and now have to mod the chinpad. I was thinking maybe move the mounting brackets back a half inch or so? That way i don't have to cut into that sexy glass job. Seems like it will work but then will have the bolts showing through turf...oh well.

Let me know what you guys did.

Update:

I just went ahead and moved the brackets back a half inch. I cut the turf in a square so i to get to the sink hex bolts. The turf didn't get damaged so after moving the bolts I re-glued and it looks as good as new...almost.
