2021 Krash

I am looking to buy my first standup and have been seriously considering a 2021 Krash Footrocket for use on the Mississippi River. However, now that I am reading a lot of posts on here, I am finding their reliability is in question. Are the 2021s any better? Would I be better off with a used Rickter or California Freestyle in the same price range? I will mostly be freeriding but want the ability to learn flatwater freestyle. I don't want to be able to outride the ski for years to come and will pay for that luxury. Appreciate the advice.

The 2021's are supposed to have a lot of things fixed. If you want reliability find yourself a newer Superjet. Or get an older one then hit up @JetManiac for JM781 engine and 148mm pump. Once you get bored of that, get yourself an aftermarket hull like krash/rickter/CF etc and put that drive train into it.

The big problem with Superjets are that all their parts add up to less than current selling prices. There is NO perfect hull for everything. Short flatwater hulls are usually (always) uncomfortable to ride for very long. Longer hulls are great for riding but won't flip. Rome wasn't built in a day, start on a beater and see if you can stick with the hobby for more than one season.. Theres a lot to learn if you want to.

Definitely would not even consider a krash rtr ski as a very first ski. Not that anything is wrong with them but a stockish ski with more manageable powerplant would be better to learn on.

Find a 96-2020 SJ and just learn to ride. You can have so much fun just learning....... Learn high speed turns, slow speed turns. Best of all, "Sudden Turns". Many do not really know how to do this!!!!!!!! Learn jumps, then start with simple tricks.

How is he going to get a 26' superjet when we can't even get our hands on a 21'?:p

Its hard to relate stand up riding to anything. Not the same as buying a nicer bicycle than you need, or a dirt bike/motorcycle that has plenty of power. I believe that it would truly make the riding experience more difficult than necessary! Its already hard enough to get decent at riding jet skis :) Absolutely buy a Superjet and ride it for a season, it will only make you a better rider in the long run.
