Got the carbs all cleaned up and rebuilt.

I may short term squeeze this motor set in The squarenose to break it in. Seems like a worthwhile option.

So pulled this thing out of building D finally the other night. Trying to remind myself what on earth I got into.

A big hang up for me with this thing was never being a fan of the blue, so anyway. We attack.

The bottom of the ski was tragically repainted with what seems like roll on house paint, brake cleaner melted it all off.

Then got to some sanding!

I have no idea what I'm doing. But best believe we're doing it.

Plenty of cleanup still to do, still plenty of sanding to do. I have some glass work in the tray i wanna cleanup a bit. I'm gonna keep the tray as is.

Few random things
- I got an insert floating around the tray it appears to be an M6 which would make me think it's a intake grate or the ride plate mounts. But I ran a chaser through them all, camera'd the ride plate inserts they're all still intact?? Why is there a magic insert in the tray. wonder how long it's been bouncing around. 1000004986.jpg

I'm not really feeling the RRP pole. Am I crazy? It seems like just a heavy porker, not a fan of the looks. Few friends have Xmetal poles and I just love the look and feel. Am I crazy to want to switch to that ??

I’ve always thought the simplicity and smooth lines of the xmetal are way nicer than tube and truss of the rest. Definitely not crazy!

I agree that the x metal poles look better... on certain skis that have a slight curve in the hood that matches the curve of the pole. Using a pole spring with a rrp style pole is a necessity in my opinion. I dont like the pole super tight.
