2011 Gen2 BOB Hull

Hey guys, Im a regular on PWCtoday, but thought Id ask this question over here. So I have a SN Superjet with a limited mods 760. Just got it and love it, but I came across the GEN2 BOB Hulls forsale on here for only 4K and I would love to flatwater barrel roll and backflip. After some practice of course ;) So anyway< what Im wanting to do is transfer everything from my Superjet to the BOB hull. Is this possible? Pole? Is the 760 and the hull a good combo? Could I make a sick freestyle turn key ski from the both of them combined? Thanks! Owen

Give Derrick at the ski clinic a call, he is an awesome guy.
BOB is proven to flip with a 701.
But with the 62t, That 760 top end has a much different port timing then the 61x cylinder... and from what ive been told, a 701 61x has almost more bottom grunt then the 62t 760 due to the difference height of ports and the port timing.
That being said, With a boat wake, or even with some awesome form, you should be able to flip the BOB, assuming you have at least a limited set up.. B pipe, Head, etc...
I would also send over the cylinders and cases to Art at Jetworks to have some magic done to them port wise...

As for the transfer over- That would be best to chat with Derrick About, I know all the internals will transfer right over with no problem, but for the pole, I am not to sure because I am cutting 2 inches off my rrp poes and running it on shortest setting on my bob, so thats a LOT off the stock pole... .
P.S- 4k for what type of hull... ? Because brand new standard starts at 4k... http://www.thebobhull.com/2011-gen2.html

Yeah, thanks, Ive been looking into getting the 760 ported then Ive been told it has more bottom end than the 701. Ive been talking to Derrick about it now, and yes the 4K is for the brand new standard glass hull. Unless I can find a used one which I havent yet. How much do you think the porting will be? Pump will fit? Thanks!

but I came across the GEN2 BOB Hulls forsale on here for only 4K

^That made it seem like you thought you found a good deal for one on Xh20, and the price was 4000.
Yes the pump will fit.

The used ones pop up here and there on here, both Gen1 and Gen2s.
Depends how big of a rush you are to get the hull, if you sit back and wait, used ones will show up, but be ready to jump on them.

Not sure on cost of Porting, Call Art at Blackjack Performance... aka Jetworks....
Hes a great guy a knows a TON of stuff about motors and he will give you the low down on everything to get the best bang for you buck.
And then when you come across parts you need... trust me there will be random things i promise, call up Mike at Optima Racing and he will hook you up and answer any questions you may have.

Oh sorry, didn't even realize I posted that in that wording hahaha, no I was looking at the new one, so pretty much beside the pole unknowns, If I got this hull everything will bolt right in for a pretty good flat-water ski, right?

Hey Owen,

Come out to some of the Northwest flatwater events next year. You're welcome to ride my Superfreak (with a bigger motor next year!), there will be a Q8, and a buddy of mine is building a Gen2 BoB. I'm sure you can try those as well.

Thanks man! That would be so sick! whens the next flatwater event near me and you? I probably sound like a stupid 14 year old kid to you hahaha seems like I go through skis faster than clothes! But I make money on all my skis, and theres always something better. I hoping this Gen2 BOB goes through, what do you think of the hulls? If you find one from any of your buddys you know who to look for! Hoping i can swap almost everything over from my SJ, it wont be nearly what I want it to be at first but Ill get there!

I just got my Gen 2 and I really love the way it rides. I'm running a powerhouse performance 760 w boiler, msd, lightened flywheel and other odds and ends and a RRP pole. Took everything from my rn Superjet and must say the ski rides great! Not sure if it'll make a flatwater backie .......only rode for ten min on flat then was in 2-3' surf the first real time we rode.

Thats awesome! My engine is nice, and I can make it almost perfect but this hull for a 14 year old kid with 3 jetski's is going to cost me an arm and leg! So Im scrounging just to get a nice used hull or something and slowly, slowly build my engine up. Like upgrades from my pro-tec head to maybe an ADA girdled head. Stuff like that, Ill just wait and try to statch one up from here for a good price.

My little brother has a Gen2 with a 760 motor, and one of our guys has flipped it quite a few times, no problem at all. Practice is definitely needed though, not everyone is gonna be able to just jump on it and do backflips their first try, but after you get some time on it, flips and rolls shouldn't be much of a problem.
