I am trying to finalize a date for this event to kick off the summer of 2009. It will be the on first or second Saturday of May 2009. There is the I-35 ramp for Lake Dunlap on the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels and a nice piece of property 1/4 mile down river we can use. There is a private ramp there. The owner has not asked for money but I suggest 3-5 dollars per car if parking there and using his ramp. We will have a charcoal grill/smoker, a large cooler for drinks, and a slip-n-slide for the kiddos. Please post up if you plan on attending with your preferred weekend. I will post directions when we get closer to an actual event.

You can pencil me in. Something to think about, second weekend of May is Mother's Day.

lmao, well then, the first weekend it is. That's what I get for not checking the calander. Thanks.

So, who's in for the first saturday of May? Would anyone be interested in Memorial day weekend as well?

I reserved the lake front for Saturday May 2nd. :cheer: That's just two weeks away. So far we have 3 0r 4 riders plus we are bringing two or 3 skis and some friends/family. I'm hoping to debut the :bananajump:then too. Pass the word arround. All are welcome. Please chime in if you are planning to come.

I think I'm gonna try to make it out if I can get someone to help me get my ski out of Lake Mcqueeney and onto my trailer. Autumn has her 100 mile bike ride that day, so she won't be there. I was supposed to go to Shiner and meet her at the end of the bike ride, but her partner's POS husband is gonna be there. If I have to spend one more second with that idiot, I'll probably kill him. So yeah, um , I think I'll ride with you guys instead.

OK, I have the directions. Heres a map to the lake property:

http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=N...9.694043:-98.103825:0:::::/io:0:::::f:EN:M:/e

If coming from Sa or Austin, take exit 188. If from Austin take a left at the light on to business 35 south. Then take a left at the next light one block south. The public ramp will be right there under the bridge at the turnaround. If going to 544 Gunther, continue around the turn around to the access road. Turn right heading north. The next street Seville. Turn right on Seville. It will end at Granada. take a left and the house is on the right through a gate. To launch, drive down the path to the right of the house, go left around the turn around and back down the ramp. Unload your stuff there and park back up in front of the house. If coming from SA, exit 188 then take a very quick right for the public ramp or the second right for Seville and the lakefront property.

Note: The map is slightly off on the address. The house is north of the red star by two houses.

Here's a better view, its the house with the loop and reamp right by the water:

Good question. Bring an ancor if you have one. Unfortunatly there is no beach. You are welcome to beach the skis on the concreet ramp but it will only fit 4-5 skis. There is a 5-7'' deep water front like your place so anchors work fine.

Cool...I'll bring my 2 beach stands for the ramp and 2 anchors in case anyone wants to use any of that stuff.

It sucks that I missed out on that beach cart that was for sale here in Seguin a week ago. That fool put it up on craigslist without any contact information and I sent like 5 emails starting on the day the listing was made...Finally he emailed me back telling me it was sold. Some people don't need to use computers or the internet. :aargh4: Idiot! Y'all better not have beat me to it!

Talked to SteveOwe today. Looks like he'll make it. :bigok:

If any of you Houston Dallas or Austin guys want a place to stay, I have a connection at a local hotel here. PM me and maybee we can get you a sweet deal. http://www.grueneoutpostlodge.com. They allow dogs and are right on the river. They also offer a shuttle to downtown so you can check out the local joints till late and not worry about a DD. :fest30:
There's also a good RV site right next to the public ramp.

Attention all riders!!! The first Guadalupe Freeride is a week away!!!

OK, I have a cheap place for all the out of towners if enough are interested. We could also have an after party there too. I worked something out with the Gruene Outpost owners to use thier Clubhouse Saturday night. If we get enough interested, I can reserve it. There are several footons, couches and a sleeper sofa. There are two bathrooms but the one draw back is thier are no showers in the club house. We may be able to use another room's showers if availible. The club house has a kitchen and several rooms including a huge living area with a 52" plasma tv we can use to play ride videos or xbox after the ride. I have made arrangments to trade the price of the room with our pool service so we can cut the $300 per night fee way down. If I get enough people to pay 10-20 each for the room then I'll trade out for the rest of the price with our pool cleaning service. I could see about a deal for a regular room friday night as well for those coming down that night.

Please respond ASAP as they cannot hold the room for us untill I am certain were in. If you know some Austin or Houston guys, please spread the word.
Hopefully, you out of towners might be more interested after hearing about the Clubhouse.
