Surfriding 2008 SJ....Super Tray ... Short, Wide, Strong. Almost done !

Not a good idea to redrill the bulkhead lower because water will come back up the pipe from the rear and fill the exhaust quikly when not running....especialy in surf.

I don't think the 6 more inches of straight to do it the way I did vs this build will change a thing. If you look at his the join is in the foam. The Z on our build is in the motor area and a welded pipe. It still has the Z so water isn't going to flow up to the water box. But to get a full tray foot hold you need the straight the length of the tray.

You can see it at wave daze.

Hey that is bad to the bone, nice glass work! I LOVE the 08+ hulls....just gotta find a sweet deal to get BACK to the dark side....yikes! Might drop my limited sxr motor in a BOB or rickter?

I'm putting rrp holds in mine, but they set off the sides of the hull a bit and I am kinda bummed about that. Spent a lot of time widening, which I am WAY stoked on, but the rrp's bring it back in a bit further than I wanted. Can't wait to see what you came up with on the holds. NICELY done dude!! Sweet build.

You know you could have just spun the pipe and redrilled the bulk head lower. That way you have a solid pipe in there. We just did this on a 08 and a 97.

But very nice build!! It's worth all the work for sure.

z tube is better IMO, more clearance for batterey and less backfill into waterbox, I have lowered both ways and learned that the z tube is a better option. Of course I had mine welded as z.
