I am planning on competeing next year in the AM class. I do not see how they can change the rules a month before a competition, how long does it even take to get an aftermarket hull even if you knew of the rule change and have the cash for a AM hull you probably couldnt get that in time and be able to practice on it.

But Congrats to all that competed regardless of what they rode it still takes lots of skill no matter what boat you ride.

If one of the competitors has a problem can't they just ask for everyone to be teched??? Seems like someone should just step up and do it. Then when the IJSBA sees almost everyone DQ'd they will set it in stone for the next year. Just my opinion.

In most sports you must pay a fee and file a formal complaint on EACH competitor that you want protested. The money is non-refundable and is said fund the costs of the extra work involved to investigate the claims being made. You must also file specific grounds and some sort of evidence to your claim.

As Odduck stated, you will still be the one remembered as the squealer.

actually, you get the money back if they do find the racer/competitor was illegal.

I honestly think people are afraid to rock the boat......... I can see that at regional events, but not at WF, too much money is spent to get there.

that is correct you can file a protest it is a 100 dollar fee if there is nothing found you lose your money . But all the top five boats were all checked . they measured the bore and the stroke on all top five am's . and in pro class they just measured stroke i am sure due to the fact it is almost all open to what you can due . i agree the rules should be set for one year at a time , but they due need to get with the program . maybe they should do basically a stock class just bolt ons for those who are new to the sport and who cannot afford maybe . but am should stay at 800cc and all else goes . pro class should be completley open . and lenzi didnt train them maybe but maybe one time . they have been trianing with rick roy for ten plus years and now eric malone for almost three years . any way this kid cannot ride for 6 months and pull out this kind of routine flawlessly . hope fully next year they will get it togather . but there will always be unhappy people .

not enough people for stock class freestyle......but I like the idea.

AM should be on OEM hulls with AM Hoods and 800 cc max. following MOD Class Rules.........

Pro = Bring It........what ever you got...........

I'm confused.. So is the amateur class split now or what are the real rules for 08?

There is kinda a split with the APBA Rules, AM1 and AM2 (Am2 allows for am hulls)

my point with stock class is to let new riders into the sport . without having to spend a fortune to get on a even level , i think eventually you have more people try it if they new they didnt have to due a barrel roll just to compete and get spanked for a few years until they could or afford more power . i dont see what the problemn would be if you have one or two riders show up for pro class why not . i am sure you would get more entries in stock class

i like the AM1 and AM2 classes.

it gives an arena for both types of riders in more level playing fields.

It is a pretty good idea, only problem is there are not enough competitiors, I dont know the solution to it, nobody wants to step up, I only know of one new competitor this year, Gil, I think there may have been 1 or 2 at the Hot Water Tour stops at one round.
