Letting the foam fly today.

first i have to start out by saying thanks to glyn for letting me make a mess of his garage. with out his help this build wouldnt be half of what it is now.

this tray is super wide now. i love it. its going to be similar to ttstangs rickter build with lowered foot trays, and under padding built up to make it all look level. the tray height is at the top of the pump cavity, and the foot trays have been lowered below the bond line. it is hard to tell being in foam still but once its in glass you can see all the different concours of the tray.

as for the foot holds, i am using the B.O.B. kit, but like anything else involed in building a custom ski, i am making some alterations to it. To get the tray heights and shape i want, i decided to not use the supplied fiberglass panels supplied in the kit. I am however using the coosa boards that were glued to the backs of the panels for added support and strenght to my already reinforced side walls.

even though i am making some changes the the B.O.B. holds, i will try and document the install as best i can as there seems to be a lot of interest in them.

i just the tray into its final shape, and all prepped for glass. width is just shy of 21 inches and 1 inch lower than the top of the pump.

sorry about the lack of updates. last few weeks were crazy trying to get things done before wavedaze. dont have a lot of pics of the final stagesof the build but i will up date what i did document.

kicked some arse glassing tonight. Your looking at six hours of work to glass the tray in. Wait till you see how we finish this off. <fieldset class="postcontent"> <legend>

sounds great! What did you think of Zimmys ski? I just finished mine yesterday so I couldnt make it to Wavedaze unfortunately :( I have a few bugs to work out and Im testing it out again tomorrow. So far I love what I did and my setup is probably similar to Zimmys ski. Once Im all dialed in with my big bore again Im going to swap my Able motor in and a mag pump. Hopefully I will see you at the next Wavedaze in the fall if you plan on going...

zimmys boat was awesome. it was very flickable and fun to ride. felt very much like my fixed steer sj, but much more stable. im thinking about building one my self now.

Yeah I really wanted to make it there to try my ski out and try his also. He really wanted to try mine also but it was such a last minute build that it just didnt work out in time to make it there. At least I should have some more time on this hull for the next Wavedaze and it should be more enjoyable... it just sucks we have to wait until fall for the next event.

Next time i will have to take you up on your offer and try this bad boy out. Are you planing on riding jersey at all this year?

dont know what the schedule looks like yet but might make a trip to jersey this year. your buddy loved the dasa and i still have more power to get out of her.

if you ever run into me at any event, dont be afraid to ask to take it for a spin.

Finally have some updates.

Just got my ski back, and she's gone on a diet. She's lost 30lbs since I last rode her. What I got is a prototype full carbon fiber hood. 18lb bare hood and liner.
That's all the info I can give for now as there will be an announcement soon to follow.
