2000 yamaha gp 1200r

Hey guys I am looking at a 2000 yamaha gp 1200r w/ 100 hours. The guys says it has been sitting for a year and needs the carbs rebuilt. I went and looked at it the carbs are off and do need to be rebuilt from fuel gumming in them they also seem to be Coroded (sp?) the engine has about 120 compression in each cyl but does not seem to have spark? what could cause this? the guy wants 1800$ w/ a trailer.

sounds expensive for a non-running ski.

The gpr is known for its abilty to corrode the carbs duse to there postioning down low and in the water

I am assuming that the exhaust is off as well then

Make sure that the mixture adjustments work on the carbs as these are the first thing to corrode in on these skis
they will also tend to break if corodded
