I was at home depot last night and I came across something interesting. It was paint to re coat your tub and sink. It comes in 2 aerosol cans and you mix them together. It says it is 2-part epoxy. I was thinking about trying it in the engine compartment. Any thoughts?

I've run into it in a few bath tubs of the houses I've inspected. It doesn't hold up worth a crap and inside a hull would be worse with any oil and fuel that may leak onto it.
Just my experience though

Nothing sticks to porcelain. It has to be acid etched in order for ANYTHING to stick to it. Are they talking porcelain bath tubs or fiberglass/gel coat tubs?
I'm just curios. When I re-suface a porcelain bath tub I acid etch it and use a special 2 part epoxy paint especially made for refinishing porcelain and spray it on with a heated squirrel fan type HVLP.

I'm sure it will work fine on you engine compartment if you sand and clean/degrease it well.

I wish I would have looked at a little more. I don't think it etches, but I could be wrong. Maybe I will have to see if I can find the brand and look into it a little more.

i used it , worked ok, tub looks better than it did . i don't expect a lifetime of use out of it and it really did not go on to smooth but seems durable so far
