Finished up my SJ today finally, after working on it all winter.

2005 Yamaha SJ.

UMI Steering, Intake Grate/ Ride Plate, Skat Prop, WCF holds, new turf, b pipe, and carbs jetted to 135 75.

Ran it today in the river, dodging the ice flows

Ran real good, no hesitations, Id say almost perfect.

It did stall a couple times, but I believe this is because I only had about an inch and a half of fuel:cat40: It stalled twice, once when I turned hard, and once when I jumped and the nose when vertical. So tomorrow I will fill up and give in try # 2.

But Im very happy with it, and cant wait til' summer is actually here.

THANK GOD for that dry suit I bought last week, the thing works like a dream. going to the dive shop tomorrow to find some dry gloves.

Heres a short video notice the ice:haha:

ya know what works awesome (best I found) for gloves??? Simple, rubber dishgloves. I used to sail in icy water, so we had to be ready to capsize in whitecaps with ice in the water, and finish the race. I tried sailing one day in nothing but hands in 40 degree water and it wasnt long before I couldnt feel my hands (they turned completely blue from the spray) and couldnt even hold onto the sheet anymore. Two dishwashing gloves (I wore two on each hand) and some gill sailing gloves on top made that problem nonexistant. Since they are so impermeable to water, the same goes as far as heat, worked about 100x better then 50 dollar "waterproof" sailing gloves with insulation.

so, you let the engine warm up out of the water, and then let the cold water touch the cylinders and instantly cool the 160 + degree cylinder walls with 32 degree water? Not cool.

I'll give you benefit of doubt and assume the trailer was in the water.

I dragged my ski down to Ipperwash beach on Tues. I might have been a little optimistic.
The ice still goes way out.
