1996 Superjet build

Pics...patiently awaiting to slap the motor together. Just need to find time and money to do so. @gto0209 is sending me some base and head gaskets he has, plus a stock head, cdi and a 44 carb. Nice to have good friends in the community!

I need some input on turf options for the hull. I don't want to just get black, and I don't want to get a color that's gonna fade quick either. I was thinking the two colored turf either black/neon green or something. My last ski rocked the rasta camo turf, so I like the odd colors of turf. Throw some ideas my way

I am going To go with some underpadding for the turf and I plan on cutting two half circles in the padding by the footholds so I can make it more snug, plus I always liked the look of the trays with the custom shaped underpadding

THose are old pics of the hull, I've put even more glass in the tray since then. I've never turfed with holds before. But I have turfed multiple skis before, and I thought it was real easy. How much more difficult is turfi with front and back holds?

It is a PITA!!!! Sell that chin pad cover and match the chinpad and turf. Also cut that handle pole down a few inches. Stock length poles suck.

I'm 6'4 and a college football player, I already have back problems at the age of 22, I'm not cutting the pole any shorter, it causes to much pain on my back. I like that chinpad cover! It's a jettrim one and on the side says bitchin Stitchin! I don't think I could rip that cover off

That's funny...I'm 6'2" and have a standard length AC pole and it hurts my back after riding for a while. -8 is a super low chop though.

Got everything back from jetmaniac a couple weeks ago. Tore a muscle in my forearm dying spring practice so put things on a halt the past weeks. Today I got everything back in fits great. I realized I have no bolts for the ride plate. Does anyone know the size of the ride plate bolts

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I believe thread for the ride plate bolts is 8x1.25 i just ran a tap through mine last week. not sure on the length though

Got my motor together last night. Was going to go 61x top/62t portedbottom with duals. But things don't always go as planned, so a stock 61x will suffice...for now. Really just want to ride, I'll worry about mods as we go. All of the mods now are handling mods until I get familiar with the Superjet. Should be done within the month, or when these parts come in

Well bad news, I tore my forearm this spring practice in football and that injury is preventing me from working. And i cant imagine that feeling good the way i ride my skis. On top of that some slooot gave me mono...so 3-4 more weeks of nothing and really no wrenching.

My boy @gto0209 sent me a 62t cdi, head gasket and a milled 61X head. So the motor is almost complete. I have decided to go with some lime green turf and pink odi grips, she's gonna be an eye catcher!!!

Bought what I thought was a motor couple from a member here, actually ended up being a midshaft coupler when it arrived. Seller is making it right, but have yet to receive my refund. That is now 4 parts I have bought for this build, that I have not been able to use bc they have been the wrong part. Luckily, I have only been screwed on one of those parts.

I had all the hardware for all the parts, but in the moving process, I lost the hardware for the stock pipe. Anybody have some or know the size? I would need the hardware for the bracket that mounts to the head and for the manifold to the cylinder.

I have a nice dual carb setup I will be willing to part with if anyone wants it. I would like to trade for a long exhaust hose, the exhaust hose from the pipe to the waterbox and or a full carb setup for a 61x motor. Would also be wiling to sell the carb setup. This build is slowly but surely coming along. Looking back, I should've just bought that darn 650 square for the same price of this hull, then dropped a 701 in. Oh well you live n learn...

Here is the motor, just need to make some money to get this gasket set for it! But I bought a pretty sweet double standup trailer this past week, much better than the single I had.

update*

picking up my 44 SBN carb setup, short exhaust hose, turf, grips and underpadding this weekend at the Dells Freeride.

All that is left is a long exhaust hose, gaskets, motor coupler and cooling/fuel lines. Hope to have on the water soon! Its been a year since I started this project
