I have a 1990 super jet with the stock bilge still installed I had heard that they were inefficient and rob power is this true? If so should I just remove it or is there a way to update it ? I'm also running 2 rule 500 bilge pumps. thanks for any info

The stock bilge is sufficient for regular recreational riding. If your doing a lot of subs, fountains etc than you will need to get a bilge. The stock bilge works off of suction from the reduction nozzle so it does nothing as far as rob power. I'm a pretty conservative rider so all I run is the stock bilge. It actually works pretty well. Another option is a scupper or one way valve.
I was told that the 1990 was a diffrent design and was inefficient and power robbing. It does not run into the reduction nozzel on the 1990.

I forgot that was the setup in the early square nose. Mine came with the same setup but what I did was I sealed the hole leading to the pump with epoxy. Then bought an aluminum round nose reduction nozzle and ran the line from the hull to the nozzle. Much better system. Cost me $50 a little time.
If you sealed the hose through the hull with epoxy what did you hook up the the reduction nozzel? Im confused???

I assume he meant that he epoxied the holes shut on the ride plate.

Oic. My SN did, right where that plate siphon hooked up. I got rid of it, running dual bilge. Used the left over line for dual cooling.

Sorry. That was confusing. I sealed the large hole in the pump itself with epoxy. I believe I used JB Weld. Then just ran the line from the hull to the RN reduction nozzle.

In the pic you posted, you ran the bilge line to the connection that is covered up by the white arrow you drew, yes? I just want to make sure I'm understanding things correctly. The other connection, going out toward the back of the ski, would just get plugged up, right? I believe it is supposed to go to the pisser/water spout, but I don't know.

No. The bilge needs to be hooked to the reduction nozzle.

Exactly- that's the connection I thought the white arrow was covering up. The one of the opposite side of the reduction nozzle is supposed to go to the water spout, no?
