Here is what is gion down,im keeping it pretty basic because i dont have alot of money and i still want it to be reliable.So here are my plans:

motor
keeping 650 motor
milled head
pro-tec pipe
rev-limiter mod

hull/body
footholds+turf
dual bilges
o degree bars
x-metal throttle
got a rn pole!
riva scoop grate
modified hood wiht one handhold probably

probably forgetting some stuff,im still thinking about d-cut rideplate?

if you come across a cheap RN pole, you can easily ( like 20 minutes) shorten it, and bolt it up to your bracket with some spacers.

Its shorter, stronger, and looks MUCH better.

when I cut my 1990 open, it was FULL of water, prepare for a defoam, reseal, refoam!
 
How about a prop?

Sounds like a nice start with the basics.
I agree, your boat is probably very wet and heavy. If you are going to do footholds and turf....now is the time to seal and re-foam. It's not a fun job, but getting rid of the extra weight makes a big difference.
