A power drill and a wire wheel, would make quick work on that turf removal. Would save your knuckles as well.

Oh and refrain from smoking around your work area as well. I have seen people lose eyebrows.

Hell yeah thanks for the tips. On break I'll post my to do list later. Ohh and thanks for the no smoking tip. Ha I was smoking one while removing the turf

okay so my plan is to do it little by little. for now its gonna get painted, i have yamaha blue in mind and later on ill have yamaha graphics designed and placed on the ski. so paint, footholds, white diamond turf, prop, bilge system, intake grate, bored nozzle (possibly trim if it would be worth it), replace both nose pieces with blowsion nose and gas hood, im hoping to have most of if not all done by winter i will be throwing if i can find a cheap freestyle motor in or just modd a 701. the engine mods will come last.
i was actually thinking about selling and upgrading to a new ski? but everyone says the SN is where its at?
what mods should i or shouldnt do? i think i pretty much covered it? lemme know if i missed anything

less with the looks and more for the braap. footholds, turf, 701, B pipe, prop. get the stock stickers off of it with an eraser wheel and just keep it how it is.

Jetmaniac also ships very quick and will go out of his way to make sure you dont miss a ride. good luck with the build. Hardest pasrt of any build is removing the stock graphics and turf.

hell ide love to start throwing dollar sign under the hood, unfortunetly the previous owners have yet to sign over the title to me even after i handed them cash.... almost 5 months ago. SO! until i get that title i want to put minimul work into it.

and as for the turf and the stickers. the stickers are coming off surprisngly well! when i go to sand the turd i should use 60 grit sand paper? also for paint im assuming i need a base coat the primer and clear coat?
i want to take the pump out to paint up in there but idk how easy it is to reinstall the pump or if anything needs proper realignment. and all tools that were mentioned that would be helpful... i do not have lol.

pump is easy it comes right out just remember if you have any shims on it that they go back just they way the came out. you can take the pump in and out as much as you want, just unbolt pull down a bit then straight out. As for sanding use 60-80 grit and good luck with the white turf!! it gets dirty very quickly unless you are like OCD about cleaning haha

i know i should rethink white turf but i think it would look good. im not sure what paint to use? automotive paint with clear coat? or should i go expensive for marine paint. idk what would easily work and be affective

I used automotive and it has lasted 4 years so far with clear coat. just make sure you sand the crap out of that thing so it all sticks. i also did 2 coats of primer. i don't recommend using straight bondo either to fill stuff because it does not flex where as the hull does and it will pop off the paint and sometimes the bondo. This happened last year in pismo to a kid on this site.

thats what ill do then. auto paint and clear coat. i work alot this weekend and i still havent finished breaking down the ski and i have alot of sanding to do. ill post pics as i go along with the pain i choose
