650/X-2 1989 650sx Impresions

So this is my first post and I know this is redundant but I've been looking for either a project ski or a cheap ski that I can customize. Well the other day I found a 89 650sx for 450obo. Its currently registered aand running so that's speaks well I guess. The owner has had it for almost 10 years and claims to have stayed on top of the maintenance.

My question is....is it worth getting for $400-450? It will be my first stand-up, however, I've worked on 2cycle engines for a good 10 years.

If its in good shape and runs well (and has a title) then its the cheapest/best way to get your feet wet compared to a 440-550. Everyone here has Superjets and wants to do flips, so they will say save up and buy whatever they have.

I ride an 89 650, I am about to sell it and put the money towards a superjet when I get it running good. However for your first ski just to get a taste of the sport for that price I would say do it if you dont currently have the money for somthing better. If you decide you are into it after that, take the money you were going to spend on parts and save for another ski. But like I said, running good for that price as a first ski is a good start.
