PP engine.

Would a funky stop switch keep the ski from firing?

I can't get a spark. No continuity across the switch pressed in or not.

Is the switch normally open or close on these things?

Thanx!!

I've seen this answered somewhere on here before but I can't remember where.

It was in relation to the superjet's stop switch. It caught my attention in that it was the opposite of the SJ. Is the SJ switch normally open or closed?

Is there a way to bypass the switch solely for testing purposes? I have the plug out of a cylinder, so there's no chance of the ski starting.

Yup it can! My ski was a salt one so it's easy to check just remove the switch, and the. You can unscrew the switch and inside you will see the spring and contacts and you can tell right away. I took some sandpaper and made it work and then it would fire up.

yes, a constant or bad connection in your stop switch would prevent your motor from running. i had a similar issue but the stop switch would not engage. i started the ski on my stand and it wouldnt turn off. i even took the spark plug boots off and it was still running! at this point i was freakin out and took the gas line off. it eventually cut out. after opening the start/stop switches, a little cleaning of the contacts and i havent had another issue

Thanx guys!!!

For future reference, it's normally opened. Cleaning the contacts fixed it and not the circuit is closed when the button is pressed.
It relies on a relay to kill the power. It's the same relay that's connected to the rev limiter.
