Custom/Hybrid 155 vs 144mm pump in a Blaster 1100

Pros and Cons?
Deciding between a stock 155 pump(assuming it'll bolt in, and all thats needed is the custom shaft)
OR
A Solas 144 mag pump...

not sure if the pump tunnel volume on the b1 is really enough to get the full benefit of going over to a 155...

Thoughts?

144 if you want to go fast and 155 if you want to hole shot. My buddy did the 1100 with 155 and he liked it. I never tried it. I always go bigger than I need so I can build into it in the future. Your blaster shaft should go in the 155 pump.

I'm trying to decide the same thing for my carbon F1 Pro 850cc build... intake tract on my ski is the same as a Superjet I believe. The 144 mag is a sure thing but I could save a ton of money by going with a stock 155.

Stock 1100 yami I would have to look up what pitch impellor, I had it in a build thread. Yamiboooy hooked me up he had one set up minty. 155 pump

I currently have a 144 with a 14/19 thats nowhere near steep enough. I plan to add timing compression and a flywheel over winter. Having a hard time deciding between a stock 155 I have laying on the bench, or a solas mag. The cost is about 300 more for the mag in the long run, because I would have to buy a prop for the 155, it has a 15/20 swirl which is probably way too steep.

with a gp12 running a 144 stock 6 vane with a solos 16/23 and it has some balls. Great hit and top end. I couldn't imagin you could get any more out of the motor by going to a 155. I would assume the engineers went to 155 due to the weight of the 3 seater which needs the power lower in the band. No need in a B1.

PM Norm 'yamabooey' over on PWCtoday, he has a blaster with a 144 and one with a 155, both triples. He also has the 951 powered blaster with a 144 that we built. He is the only person that I know of who has both.

IMO, with the motors you are thinking about using, you should go 144. Joe's superstock 1200 kawi and it runs a 144 pump and It leaves harder than my old 8mil powervalve race skis on pump gas using a 144 skat mag.

Good luck with build,
Scottie

The problem with a 155 is that the blaster has a small intake tract so it cant take advantage of the bigger pump. I've ridden Yamabooey's 1100 with the 155 pump and IMO it doesn't help much. If you can get the pitch right on the 144 solas, it will be plenty of pump for the power.
