650/X-2 14.5 impeller on X2 - how do you rate it

Hey all,

Just curious how a 14.5 impeller would run on a 650 x2 set up for surf?

Mods (parts are on the way) are:
44mm sbn
7 ring westcoast exhaust
hi comp head (should be around 180-185 psi)
lightweight flywheel (3.5 lbs)
top loader
d-cut stock ride plate
Drilled waterbox

Cheers!!

I think with that kind of compression you should run a 15 or 15.5. At the least. I think you might just blow through the 14.5 on the low end.. what flywheel you get no flywheel!

Save your money for a big hub swirl 8/16 that will give you some low end poop

Old straight pitched impellers are poor performers in white water compared to a big hub swirl. A 14.5 will work well with raised ports and/or shortened pipes. The only way it would be too short is with a stock cylinder and full length Coffmans pipe. At least modify a 750 concord 11-16 or ideally, get a modified 8-16 Skat big hub.

Don't say that! lol!

Cheers guys! The impeller is actually coming in a pump I have purchased... Needed a whole new pump as the one in the ski looked like it had been used to move gravel for most of it's life!!

I do have a skat 5 sitting on the shelf not doing anything...
