Well, I had some carnage on my Lamey motor so Squid and I decided that we would put the 1200 in the X-jet. I was amazed to see how easy this thing fit into place. Total time to install the 1200 into the X-jet was right about 10 minutes :beerchug: More info and pics tomorrow. Hope to fire it up for the first time tomorrow night.

First ever 1200cc X-jet!!!! on the water this week

My lamey motor weighs 90lbs.

We also don't have a mag pump yet but we are going to try and make due with my c-75 impeller and TBM pump cone. That will hook up similar to a 144 mag set up, but we will loose allot of power by using that pump. We will see.......it has never been done before so it is a good test for everyone to see. I will also use this pump on the 927 motor I plan on building.

Are Lamey Cylinders heavier then stock? I guess 15lbs isnt that much.... How are people getting the 60lb weight... Im going to the garage to get some #'s.

BTW That pipe looks awsome!

:1zhelp: I still need parts.... I have been around the bush too many times for a couple billet pieces from a incomplete order back in December.... A call back would be great!

Yeah, lameys are a bit heavier. The castings a much thicker all around.

The pipe is awesome!! Very well built and nice looking welds....now how does it perform?? We will keep you posted. But I can say that I have one on order :fing02:

701 weight #'s...I got 45lbs for Cases ,crank, cylinder + head.

Id guess add another 15lb- 20lbs for carbs+ intake manifold, flywheel, pistons + hardware...

So depending what you weigh a 62T powerplant with.... looks like about 60- 65lbs long block..... 40lbs lighter then a Billet 66e motor ;p

No, the 104 weight was with electronics, carbs, exhaust manifold (no chamber). My 90lbs lamey weight was with stock electronics, carbs, b-pipe manifold and head pipe, and ADA girdled head. Complete package vs complete package I bet they are w/in 15lbs of one anouther. Trust me...I did a lower back test on both of them tonight and the difference was not bad at all. both equally painful for my skinny arse to be dropping in a ski

so it was you that bought it for $9k?

(thats what i saw it end for on ebay)

with the amount of power that thing SHOULD produce, a couple extra pounds dont be a big deal i believe :brap:

No, it was a dead beat bidder that just bid to see the reserve price. Since then his circumstances changed and his wife allowed to keep the motor. We still had work to do to his hull, mine was available and we could do the swap in a night so he will be using my hull for the rest of the season. I am helping him set everything up and get it dialed in. Plus I am interested to see how this hull handles with a little more weight and this pipe set up. Good R&D for myself (looking at a 66e powerplant), Squid (looking at a waterdawg hull) and Waterdawgs (testing a 1200 w/ OEM/TBM/c-75 set up in a X-jet hull).

I got some video of this hull with a standard stroke lamey in it. Now we can see what the 1200 looks like in comparison.....if we get it to hook up

For reference here is the ski w/ standard stroke lamey PV motor:
85.5mm kawi flat top pistons
205lbs compression
49mm Full Spec carbs
V-force reeds
Bored B-pipe w/ mod chamber
X-metal waterbox (rear outlet only)
Waterdawg Kustomz X-jet hull (108lbs = hull, hood and billit handlepole bracket)
Blueprinted OEM pump, TBM pump cone, C-75 impeller (13/17 set back 5mm)

Note: Waterdawg 1200cc motor video will be added later in the week when it is up and running

I bet it gives us a taste of the power at times but I predict a good amout of slippage

I think it's going to be worse than Blaster800's currently. He's having issues just getting a stock 800 to hookup in his Blaster, it just goes to redline and the hull starts trying to catch up. Luckily he's running stock electrics so the rev limit is low and it's not hurting the engine.

backflip

I agree with Darin. I think the pump is going to be trouble BUT I am still super excited. I received the 2 new fuel pumps and I think we have everything we need to hit the water tonight. We are going to spend 10 minutes breaker her in then start working on back flips.
