1100 63m help

My motor has an issue, like it’s starving for fuel, idling rough almost like a car with a cam in it. It’s pretty much a stock 1100 only thing done is a complete top end rebuild with 83mm wiseco pistons all new gaskets and fuel pump. Carbs were not rebuild and crank seals not replaced! The motor idles rough and if you stomp into it it dies, but if you pull the choke out about 1/2 to 3/4 the way it will run fine for about 2-5min then dies. Runs good out of the water. Question is where I should start, carbs or crank seals? Do I need bigger jets in the carbs going to 83mm pistons? Could the aftermarket fuel pump be bad? Thanks for any help, I’d usually take my time and figure it out, but leaving for Marco Island in a few days and really want to take it with me!

Cylinders were scored, compression was 105, 114 & 96. I had some 83mm on the shelf, it ran pretty much the same before. I was hoping the new bore and pistons would help. I’m leaning more towards carbs, only because I don’t have any runaway/ dieseling

I would definitely start with the carbs and or fuel pump.
If you stab it and it dies that usually is a lean condition.

I just recently got my SXR 1100 together and I'm working through the bugs myself. Just a thought, I found out pretty quick that the OEM hood cannot supply enough air for the 1100's needs. Are you using the OEM hood? If so, try riding with the round inspection cap removed from the hood so it gets plenty of air to rule out if air starvation is your problem.

If you have a fuel selector valve it would be the first thing I’d bypass, they go bad and pull air through the lines. Put a piece of clear fuel line in and make sure you don’t have a ton of bubbles coming in. Feel each cylinder to make sure they are getting hot. If you stomp it and it dies it’s lean, give the mikuni tuning manual a read it has a ton of useful info for trouble shooting. Good luck!

Your telling me, piston is trashed! Luckily the cylinder didn’t get hurt. I think I forgot to put oil in that cylinder before firing it up. Dry cylinders and new rings are a bad combo
I had a buddy and his girlfriend take my two sit downs out and I specifically told them no full throttle pulls, well guess who had two blown up skis that day!! Then I have some dude tell me “it’s just a stuck ring man” when my rear cylinder has zero psi and the piston looked like it was put into a blender haha
