08 wobble???

rode an 08 superjet today. first time on the new hull. noticed a severe wobble. is this common for the 08s?

With the hull design, at slower speeds the water can react with the "Tubby" design.

so nothing can be changed then to "fix" this slow speed wobble? i was wondering if a new intake or ride plate would change it up.

Grate and Plate may help some. Does it do it when your going slow, smooth water?

Friends 06 with tubbies did that some if the water was smooth.

cut your ride plate flush to the hull. You can also add a d-cut to it. I noticed a huge difference when doing this mod. The wobble went away and it became more agile a slow speed

Lifting the nose, reduced the hydro effect on the side.

yep..this was going slow on smooth water... it was a pretty bad pitch from side to side

the old square noses did that as well. Annoying. For some reason the RN 96-07 did not do that. Called Chine Walking.

Tubbies pull down when they touch the water, the hull can get into an rolling oscillation at certain speeds. The square nose would hunt laterally, the fix is in adding some material to the keel ahead of the pump.

My first ride out with the tubbies i noticed it quite a bit but I haven't noticed it since. :dunno: I think I just got more comfortable and therefore ride faster so i don't spend any time going slow enough to feel it anymore.

I put #.0 Sponsons on my 07 and it handles even better and I never noticed any chine walk ever. Both my SJ's now have Stock D-cut plates now as well so that helps keep the nose up too.

Get more ride time on it, and you'll likely get used to it.
When I first put tubbies on my SJ, it would wobble like crazy and toss me off every now and then.
Now I am just used to it and don't notice it any more at any speed.

lol. I do ride flat water also. Saves me a 50 minute drive to the beach. Also the wife does not do surf. So we do our share of both.
