I just checked my impeller in my 2015, and it's the kind with the hex nose. So it looks like Yamaha had 2 styles? Anyone have info on this? Is one better than another?

No...they have one style. All the '08+ impellers are the same.
You probably bought a 2015 SJ that someone got a good deal on that hull empty and assembled it with whatever they had laying around.

Nope, my Superjet was brand spanking new from the dealer purchased early 2016 by myself haha. This is why I'm really confused. I see an impeller on eBay out of a 2015 that's looks like yours, but there are also two impellers on ebay, a 2008 and 2011 that look like the one in my 2015.

My pic was from straight down, it still has a hex nose but I thought you meant it looked different as well (color) which is why I thought someone just assembled it with random parts.
But they've only had one style of '08+ impellers so yours is the same as mine and every other one

Ok, maybe the straight down shot is throwing me off. The 205 on eby I straight down and looks like it has no hex nose like yours. Optical illusion I guess?! Haha
