'06 on Superjets, Brass plugs cover H & L needles? How about the 2008 SJ?

I was bored and reading some past posts and someone said that their new 2006 SuperJet had brass plugs covering the high and low needles on the carbs? I am expecting my '08 soon and was wondering if they still employ this lame tamper proofing?

Thanks for reading,

Aw man, I don't want go to town on my new ski. I will be installing a primer in short order and will do it then I guess. So the adjustments are there beneath the plugs right, you know the regular old flat tip screwdriver headed needles.

Yes, they are practically impossible to get to though with the carbs installed because they are recessed into the carb.

Looks like I will have to then as I plan on getting a B-Pipe in a few months. How much clearance is there between the cap to the needle, I dont have a drill press and I dont want to catch the adjuster with my drill bit and bottom it out. I do have a dent puller to aid in removal, I have read this is a good way to go about this. Do you think this would void the factor warranty? I doubt they would ever notice but I dont want to get screwed on that. I fugured I could remove the FP if something came up, but the caps may look phishy.

I cut the end of the casting off with a dremel tool and cut of wheel, just deep enough to go under the cap but over the screw IMO it was less work than drilling them and pulling them out (tried that)

I pulled the first one, then used that as a measurement for the rest, a fiber cutoff wheel made quick work of the casting.

Apperently there are brass plugs on the newer carbs that prevent you from tampering (adjusting) with the stock high and low needle settings. They have to be cut or pulled out to gain access to the adjustments. I only remember seeing the tiny little black caps that would cover the slot in the factory needles. Then again I have not seen a new ski in a while, but I will in about 5 days.
