A combination of flat water messing around, teaching people how to ride a standup and also head to the surf fairly often. I do notice my 750sx leans and carves while my 05 SJ stays a bit flat in turns. I've only had the 05 SJ for two weeks now...

I just bought a mint 05 SJ with nice mods but have an opportunity to get an 08 for a few hundred more. The skis essentially have the same mods. Should I entertain selling my 05 for an 08?

I haven't given this much thought till now. I'm hoping to get a nice well cared for pristine ski and want to keep that way. I read in so many ads of skis "never beached", etc. How do you guys ride so often and not beach a ski? Even when I launch from the trailer I pull my ski off to the side...

I replaced a stator two years ago on a 650 and now need to do the same on my 750. I forget what tools are needed. Do I need a flywheel puller or a magneto puller of some sort?

Well of course I am thinking rationally and as a skeptical buyer....05 (going on 6 years old), all salt water use and knowing you never get all the money back from modding a ski/car/boat, etc. I'm thinking $4500 but have a feeling that will not be accepted!

So the 05 with mods I referenced, what do you think it is worth? Bought new in 07 and only has been ridden about 20x. It's in immaculate shape and does have nice mods. Says all the receipts are 10K and asking $7,000 and is at $6,000. Doesn't "need" to sell but doesn't have time to ride.

09 new for $6300. I can't see spending that much on a stock ski. The search continues. There is a really nice well modded 750sxi for "only" $2000. Is a SJ worth more than double cost in the fun factor dept?

I agree the 08 is the better ski and deal. My only concern is how does a stock 08 SJ perform? Am I going to think it is a total dog compared to an sxi or modded 750sx? The mods will come on the SJ but would I need to put them on immediately or is a stock 08 enjoyable for a while?

Agreed. Need to make plans to purchase the ski and begin to learn and shop for what upgrades would be best.
