    Maine riding

I'm in Maine with my SuperJet until next Saturday (7/22) and looking for a place/people to ride with and to help get the ski from my truck to the water. I'm in the mid-coast region, near Booth Bay, but willing to travel an hour or two to ride for the day. I don't hear much from this state, but...

    Thank you everyone!

It was an awesome time, something I'm sure not to soon forget. Thanks to everyone involved! It was great meeting everyone, putting faces to screennames and all. Looking forward to the next one!

    painting over powder coat

...and no I don't mean that bald guy's winter attire. Anyway...I have an AC pole that was power coated blue and want to re-paint it when I do the rest of the ski. Is it okay to paint over the powder? What prep is involved? Sand, primer?

    knytex orientation

Might be a stupid question, but is there a right way that knytex glass mat should be layed on the hull? One side is the woven fabric and the other has the fibers. Which side should be layed towards the hull, or doesn't it matter?

    Need Help with pole spring

Take the bracket off the ski and put it in a vice. Your life will be so much easier. Even if it seems like it might be more of a hassle or take longer, believe me, it's worth it in the end.

    PWC Painters in NJ

Brad...I'm planning on doing mine when I get everything else done to it. I'll let you know how it goes and you're welcome to bring yours down here to shoot it. You're probably looking in the region of $100 for the paint, primer, etc., depending on what you go with.

to flex or not to flex...

...that is the question. So what are everyone's opinions on using a flex additive when painting skis, a SuperJet for example? Is it worth it or not? I've heard both stories. Going to be using PPG Omni single-stage acrylic enamel (unless there's a good reason to do BC/CC).

    Need Painters Help...

Check out this compressor from Grizzly as a great all-around shop unit...I love mine: http://www.grizzly.com/outlet/H4519 Do note, however, that it runs on 220v.

    Need Painters Help...

The Finishline III is a nice gun for the money. One thing you want to be sure of, more than the size of the compressor you use, is the flow rate. The FL3 I believe requires about 10-12 CFM at 40ish PSI. Check those numbers, not the tank size. You'd be surprised how many large tank...

    epoxy resin & filler

Cool, thanks guys. The price on the USC stuff compared to West is driving my decision. Two gallons for the price of one! And I'll give the fast stuff a try. I've used the West fast system and always found its pot life too short, but always in the warm weather in the driveway. In my cool...

    epoxy resin & filler

I need to get some epoxy and filler for my reinforcing project and am planning on the US Composites 635 3:1 medium system, mainly for price as compared to West System. But my question is related mostly to fillers. I'm most familliar with West 404. What USC filler product is comparable with...

It's no use without Coke too. I offered him straight rum last week and he wouldn't touch it.
