I think you're right. Seems like a lot of work for the newer hull but someone did it i guess. I'm thinking the paperwork I have is for what would have been the original hull. I'm going to put it up for sale with some more info now. Thanks for the help. It's $1,000.

There are a couple chips in the underside paint of pole and gas door that show the original hotpink/purple color

Just realized this doesn't explain the repainted pole and gas cover though. It is the pink/purple from the 1995 model not the true purple from 1998. Who knows!

Got the ski out today and washed the dust off of it and took some pictures of everything. I also did a compression test. Compression is slighty above 160 in both cylinders. Only blemishes I see are a couple paint chips on hood(ordered some touchup paint) and a few minor scratches to hull bottom...
