I took a friend out on the river and he went shallow and hit a rock.
Fractured one spline, and broke the other spline off the intake and sent it into the pump where it then blew up through the foot tray.
Looks like it somehow snapped the rod in half before sending it up through the hull.
Ski...
My sessions last from 20 mins to an hour usually, then Ill take a break to warm up and eat/drink etc.
My temps are a good bit warmer than you as well :P
I thought about setting up hand warmers but would prefer not to have spray in my face the whole time lol
Thanks for your info!
I hear alot of people saying the same, that a 3/2 works for them into the 40's. And thats mostly surfers who are in the water the whole time, not up on a ski.
I might go with 5mm booties then to keep the toes warm.
Any suggestion on booties brands etc?
I found a new Quicksilver Pyre 3/2 full suit in my size and color preference for $145.
That with 3mm socks/booties and normal MX gloves should be good for 54+ degree water and 60+ air temps right?
Im ready to order, just want to confirm.
Thanks guys,
Any concern in getting too hot with a 4/3 full suit? Also will it be very noticeable while riding due to the 4/3 thickness vs a 3/2?
Would like a john/jacket setup to make things more versatile for conditions.
The neoprene 3mm socks sounds like a good idea and I normally wear...
early/late season would be mid 60's water temp lake, and the river probably stays 60 even in summer. air temps around 70.
I was able to ride the river during peak of summer without a wetsuit but definitely was numbing.
Alot of recommendations on other research for a 4/3 full suit
I ride Shasta Lake and the Sac River, looking for links to a good john and jacket combo.
Last year jet pilot had a deal on their suits for 129.99 or something.
Anyone got ideas?
Agreed. At this point they owe you a new ski.
They sold you a used ski under false pretenses as a new ski, and then to make it worse tried to screw you over when you asked them to address issues.
If it actually was used and sold to you as new you definitely are capable of a lawsuit.
I would...
Ouch.
I'd stick it to the dealer and definitely not mess with it myself.
Sounds like it should be a simple fix though and no real damage done from the short out of water run time.
Screw their mechanic for being a douchebag.
I have a 1990 650 that I just got back together from a top end rebuild, it was a 701 setup and I took it back to stock for reliability after the top end went.
I am wondering what jets and settings my carb should be at.
It has a steel mesh cone intake filter and a coffman Sizzler pipe.
Ok, I think coffman recommended red because it has higher heat tolerance.
SJ manual calls for blue loctite, the coffman instructions have in capslock to use red.
Wish they were on the same page haha
If the engine is in the hull, you pull the pipe out first and use a 4" extension on your wrench. Except for the top center two, those you just crank on by hand as best you can.
With engine out of the hull its easy, lots of room.
I guess Ill probably use red loctite and torque to specs.
I got a...
Someone said that coffman specified 15ftlbs torque for the exhaust manifold bolts, the Superjet manual specifies 11ftlbs then 22ftlbs sequential.
Can someone confirm which it is?
And red Loctite is specified by Coffman instructions, do you guys suggest red or blue?
Kinda worried to use red...
lmfao @ un-friending non skiers Quinc :P
Hell yeah Sparkplug! I might hit the river tomorrow here in Redding as well.
My buddy was wanting to ride this weekend as well so maybe ill get him to come out too.
pm me with what launch and time, a phone # is good too.
