It could. It is most likely the starter relay. Get into the electrical box and jump the nodes of the relay with a screwdriver. If it turns over, it's the relay. If it doesn't, then we go from there. (ground, battery, starter, switch, etc.)

They'll come off with GENTLE heating with the heat gun and use Goof Off for the residue but yes, gas will work.

I just twist them until they pull out. Then I just push them back in. I haven't had one come out spontaneously ever. If you're just twisting, fug it, lock the vice grips on 'em and twist. Voila!
