will it survive the abuse year after year with out any foam in the hull, what about sinking.
what is the easiest way to gut the foam, i want to do it if its not to bad.
Hey, I would have scanned the templates but I lost the paper with them on it.
I put on the stock x2 trim assembly, left it all stock with vanes, just removed the sypnon bilge pipe & shaved it even & filled the hole with epoxy.
It hits a lot better with the x2 nozzle than stock borred 80mm...
cool,
you should mount the e box to the bulk head, & ditch the braket saving you another 2 pounds. Cut the base out of the battery box also.
for the hood, remove all the liner minus the air box, & the Grab handle, the air block off, save another 1-2 pounds.
Mine does it too, 180psi compression from milled head helped a little. what I do now is
when tail standing I try to keep the rear hood intakes out of water, if they go under just for a sec it start to load up mad & it takes full throttle to pull out, other wise it bogs minimum. When nose...
with 4 gallons off gas & fire extinguiser ready to ride.
forgot to mention i have a 9lbs battery is there, the 4lbs battery suxed, limited crank time.
subnsxr is right there is alot off crap you can pull off the sxr to save weight.
Heres some pics,
I went for a ride today & i was amazed how much better the ski is now, weight reduction worth the hard work. Plus it seemed to eat less gas, rode 1.5 hours on 1 tank.
As for the scale, you have to subtract 12 pounds for the straps & it ends up 380.
scale is in 5 pounds...
I removed,
Bondline rails (turfed istead),
Gunwhale caps, (turfed over)
Cut rear bond line for trim( brobably saved 5oz) :)
Went to blowsion internal fuel fill (carbon fibre over the external fill hole)
Cut as much glue out of the engine compartment ( man it freaking sucked)
Cut battery...
After all the weight reduction i weight in my ski this morning & its fu*cking heavy. 380Lbs wet, 4 gallons of fuel. Probably 242 with no fuel & battery Or fire extinguiser. Its got wet foam but im to lazy to refome, maybe next year.
forgot about the fire extinguiser
:biggthumpup:Thanks, Mine is doing the same it is pointing up about 1-3 degs, 3 mills off the ride plate,
I made a bracket template i will post it here so people in the future dont have to spend alot of time fabricating the bracket. Just trace it & cut.
My ski is taking...
cool,
use your ride plate as a stop, works well. My trim hits the tray, but when i put some tension on the nozzle with my hand it goes down till the cable stretches to a stop, i will cut some treads off the trim cable to move the ball cup connector closer, to compensate for the cable strech...
hey, i just installed dales pole, & it caused my steering cable to be bowed up to bond line on the side of the hull, is there a better way to route it Or wrap it cause it will get burned by the exhaust pipe chamber. Other wise pole rocks :veryhappy:
